LLDC3 Connectivity Track

The geographic disadvantage of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) leads to significantly higher transport costs and longer transit times for both imports and exports. LLDCs also face persistent challenges such as inadequate transport infrastructure, inefficient border and customs procedures, and limited use of digital technologies to streamline logistics.

Enhancing digital connectivity presents a transformative opportunity for LLDCs. By advancing meaningful digital infrastructure and access, these countries can improve the flow of information and services and empower businesses to engage in global trade.

About the Forum
Under the connectivity track, two key themes will be explored: 1) Digital Connectivity and 2) Transport and Transit.

The Digital Connectivity session will examine how LLDCs can harness digital technologies to improve the flow of information and services, enabling businesses to access global markets. Discussions will center on ensuring affordable and reliable digital access, expanding digital infrastructure, strengthening digital skills development, and accessing technological innovations.

The Transport and Transit session will focus on the persistent challenges faced by LLDCs, including geographical constraints, inadequate transport infrastructure, and the growing threat climate change poses to transport systems and services.
